Sarah in Venedig/Venice

Zuerst ein wenig über mich selbst : Ich bin Sarah, 24 Jahre alt, komme aus Celle, habe im Frühjahr 2007 meinen Bachelorabschluss in Linguistik und Fremdsprachen an der Uni Marburg gemacht und nehme mir nun ein Jahr Auszeit, um die Welt zu bereisen.
Die Idee für diese Reise hatte ich zum ersten Mal vor etwa 3 Jahren als ich gerade in Südamerika unterwegs war. Angefangen hat die Planung dann mit einem halben Jahr in Australien und am Ende stand dann plötzlich eine komplette Weltreise über fast 14 Monate.
Drei Jahre hat es leider auch gedauert bis ich das nötige Geld gespart und mich entsprechend vorbereitet und informiert hatte.
Nun werde ich ab Mitte April 2007 unterwegs sein. Mein erster Stop ist Südafrika für 5 Wochen. Nach Afrika werde ich noch einmal für ein paar Tage zu Hause in Celle sein bevor es dann für ein ganzes Jahr mit dem Great Escapade Ticket weiter geht. Meine Route mit dem Ticket ist:

London - Singapur - Bangkok - Kuala Lumpur -Surabaya -Jakarta- Singapur - Brisbane - Sydney - Christchurch - Queenstown - Auckland -Tonga -Samoa - Los Angeles - New York - London - Home!

In Australien werde ich in Brisbane für 6 Monate bei einer Gastfamilie als Aupair arbeiten, um das Land noch intensiver kennenzulernen und ein wenig Geld zu sparen.

A few facts about myself: I’m Sarah, 24 years old, I was born and grew up in Celle (near Hamburg and Hannover), Germany, I recently finished my Bachelor’s degree in linuistics and foreign languages and I’m now taking a year off to travel the world!
I first had the idea for the trip about three years ago while travelling in South America. It then took three years to save up money and plan the trip. It all started with six months of work and travel in Australia, but then I kept adding more and more countries and it really become a trip around the world that will take me close to 14 months.
I will begin my trip in South Africa, where I will be travelling for 5 weeks. After a short stop-over at home I will then set of for Asia on my Great Escapade round-the-world-ticket. My itinerary is:

I’m also planning on working as an Au pair in Brisbane for about 6 months, to slow down for a while, get to know Aussie life and of course to save up some more money for the rest of the trip.
