Just a quick update…I went to see a doctor here in Kuta yesterday after I still didn’t feel any better. Found a clinic that looked okay and it turns out that I have indeed some sort of bacterial infection. The doctor happily informed me that he had just had two other patients with the same symptoms like me. So now I got three different kind of pills, one of which is another antibiotic ( not that I’ve been taking one for the last 10 days anyway!). Anyway, I feel a LOT better today, not so dehydrated and tired anymore.
Went to the beach today, those waves are massive…I only took a very short dip!
Rico and I are busy figuring out our next move ( that will also be our last move together), we want to see Mount Bromo on our way back to Surabaya! I’m really excited to see the volcano..I don’t think I’ve seen one before…not an active one that is!
Yeah…I finally found an internet cafe that doesn’t a furtune and still has fast internet. So I was able to upload a lot of Bali pictures. What can I say…I love Bali, especially Ubud, a small town up in the mountains where we stayed the last couple of days. We had a very nice and dirt cheap bungalow. We paid 8 euros for the two of us and that included breakfast that was served on our patio and a very refreshing pool.
We’ve been taking it very slow during the last couple of days…I’m still not feeling well, eating only about once in 24 hours because I’ve completely lost my appetite ( which is a very rare thing let me tell you!!). It’s so weird…during all those week that I was travelling in Thailand, Cambodia and even Laos I never had stomach problems..and we were eating from food stalls ALL the time.
Ever since I’ve travelled to Malyasia and Indonesia I’ve been having problems…I might go and see a doctor tomorrow as all the medicine that I took with me hasn’t helped.
So during our stay in Ubud I shopped a lot…it’s kinda hard to resist all the cute boutiques there. On our last day, we rented a motorbike and cruised around for a couple of hours coming across beautiful rice fields, some temples and just stunning scenery.
At night we had tickets for a balinese tribal and fire dance which was definitely an experience ;o)
Today we felt like it was time to move on and so we took a shuttle bus down to Kuta which is not only the premier tourist spot in Bali but also right at the beach! There’s for sure a lot more going on here…also a lot more people on the street and at the beach. Ubud was a lot more relaxed. So we’ll stay here for a couple of days, if I’m feeling any better within the next days I’d like to go diving or surfing ( the waves are huge!!). I’ve read that there is a ship wreck off the east shore…I’d love to go diving there!
But we’ll see how it goes…it seems like a doctor’s visit might not be a bad idea after all!
Anyway…I hope you enjoy the pictures and I will take and post some more Kuta pictures within the next days…here a two of the beach and the beautiful sunset we had today!
