Okay…so after a long time now I have finally found an internet place that has fast internet for reasonable prices. It’s funny how much you rely on being connected via the internet. It’s not like I miss it terribly, but it is the most important contact medium.
So, what has been happening over the last days?
Well, after our rushed goodbye from Port St. Johns…we had actually planned on staying another night, but forgot to chancel our taxi so we had to go. (I didn’t want to go at all!!)…we made it to Coffee Bay, which is another very beautiful spot along the wild coast. The Transkei is a very rural and very African part of South Africa and I think I have enjoyed it the most so far.
We (when I say “we” I mean Rico, Ossi and me…we have sort of teamed up for a while) stayed in Coffee Bay for 3 nights, went to a Xhosa village to meet the headman, watch the young girls perform some traditional dances and try some of their food.
The next day I did a hike to the hole in the wall which turned out to be far more exhausting than we all thought it would be. The view was stunning though. On our last full day, Rico and I tried ourself at surfing…which, let me tell you, is very hard to do. I have bruises all over my arms from holding on to the board and on my let from hitting rocks in the water. But it was still great fun and I got a really nice sun tan :o)
Yesterday we had a pretty long drive on the bus which eventually got us to Port Elizabeth. I had actually planned on staying 2 nights there, but I hated the hostel, so I went straight to Jeffereys Bay with Rico and Ossi which was once again the right choice ( I have changed my mind so many time during my travel, but it has always worked out for the better…especially in Port St. Johns!!)
We’re planning on staying here for 3 nights, the hostel in awesome and maybe I’ll try surfing again ;o)
After J’Bay we’re probably off to Plettenburg Bay ( I might do the Bungee jump there…it’s the highest in the world…216m..or so they say!)

So…endlich mal wieder halbwegs vernuenftiges Internet!! Halleluja!
Bin mitlerweile in Coffee Bay and der Wild Coast gelandet, nachdem ich nach St. Lucia eine Nacht in Durban verbracht habe (war mit der Besitzerin des Hostels im Casino und habe das Geld fremder Leute verspielt *grins*)…dann war ich fuer 2 Naechte in Port St. Johns..traumhaft…bin zwar physisch hier in Coffee Bay, mit dem Kopf aber noch in Port St. Johns…da war es einfach perfekt!!! Bin angekommen, innerhalb von 10 Minuten kannte mich das ganze Hostel und die Party am ersten Abend haette besser nicht sein koennen. Afrikanische live Musik, Haengematte, Bier und Cocktails..mmmmhh!! Am zweiten Abend wollte ich dann eigentlich mal eher ins Bett gehen, was ich im Grunde auch getan hatte - zumindest bis ich eine Stunde spaeter von Ashley, dem Barkeeper wieder an die Bar gezerrt wurde und eine weitere Viertelstunde spaeter im Schlafanzug in den Pool geworfen wurde!! Nachdem wir uns dann noch eine weitere Stunde gegenseitig mit Bier und Red Bull per Strohhalm beschossen haben, sind dann noch bis zum Sonnenaufgang am Lagerfeuer sitzen geblieben und ich bin erst gegen 7 im Bett gewesen und dementsprechend total geraedert und werde heute dann wohl mal wirklich frueh ins Bett gehen.Morgen gibts hier nen 3stuendigen Hike auf den ich mich schon freue. Muss aber hier erstmal richtig ankommen…im Moment wuerde ich am liebsten einfach wieder nach St. Johns fahren und mich in eine der super Haengematten legen.
Da das Internet hier einigermassen gut funktioniert werde ich morgen mal probieren ein paar Bilder hochzuladen…
