St. Lucia

Category: Africa, St.Lucia – Sarah – 3:37 pm

So, here we go again. Last night I spent at the Sondzela Backpackers Lodge in Swaziland. The hostel and the surrounding garden with pool were absolutely beautiful. It”s really too bad that I didn’t have time to stay there for more than just one night. But because the BazBus isn’t running daily between Swaziland and Durban, I would have had to stay for at least 3 night and then also at least 2 nights in Duran and that would have just been too long. Time really flies by…only 3 weeks left.
I’m currently staying in St.Lucia, a beautiful little town at the coast north of Durban. I decided last night that I didn’t really feel like going straight to Durban ( that would have been 10 hours on the bus). When we arrived in St. Lucia, I knew that it was the right decision, it really is a wonderful place, the hostel is right in town close to shops, bars and restaurants. With me arrived a group of four Germans and three travelers from the UK. One of the hostel’s staff then took us on a bicycle ride through town and to the beach.
St.Lucia is situated at an estuary, were sharks, hippos and crocodiles live…the last two we’ve seen on our bicycle route already, hopefully we won’t bump into the sharks while taking a dip in the sea tomorrow!!
I will stay in st.lucia until Tuesday morning and then head down to Durban for one night only.
